Houston ISD released the list of schools that will be rebuilt, renovated, expanded or combined as part of its $4.4 billion bond package ahead of its latest community meeting on the historic proposal at Fleming Middle School on Wednesday.
Over 40 schools are set to receive significant overhauls, while the rest of HISD campuses would receive heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and security upgrades under the bond proposal. The district is slating $2.05 billion for rebuilds and renovations, and $1.35 billion for the HVAC and security improvements. Another $1.05 billion would go towards pre-kindergarten and career and technical education expansions.
Below is the list of schools that will see significant changes under the bond proposal, along with their estimated corresponding costs. "Co-located" schools would share facilities or campuses.
HISD is hosting its fifth and final community meeting on the bond 6 p.m. Monday at Forest Brook Middle School. The bond is up for a vote in November.
